Why Flash Fiction?

Romance already has one plot. Erotica narrows it even more. So why make it even harder? Why flash fiction?

I’m a short story and an episodic writer. In addition, I am a Literary minimalist. Less is more. One thing I have found about writing is the preponderance of description, that in erotica especially, I feel detracts from the fantasy.

Suppose you think ample breasts are C, while another thinks that’s a DD. They are both right, but if you spell it out, it can pull them from the fantasy. Do you really know what a size 8 is? Does it matter that she’s ‘curvy’ and is that very large or just a little padding. If you guess wrong, you can lose a reader by pulling him into your fantasy and out of theirs.

Literary Minimalism refers to writing with a small, specific focus, usually devoid of flowery, excessively descriptive language and backstory. Literary minimalism prioritizes brevity, allowing the reader to make up for a lack of verbiage with their imagination.

I do pair the story with a picture that adds to the story, so, there’s a 1000 words, right? Also, I like the challenge. Now sexy can I get in a couple of hundred words. But I do write longer stuff, come visit me on my site.
